
Krista Leasure, NP, is a board-certified Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse. She specializes in the advanced management of complex wounds, including arterial, venous, diabetic, pressure, and surgical wounds. With expertise in modalities such as sharp debridement, ultramist therapy, tissue products, biopsies, and vascular assessments, she is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal healing outcomes. Krista is passionate about delivering high-quality wound care directly to patients in their homes, assisted living, and long-term care facilities while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
Krista earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Adult-Gerontological Acute Care at Creighton University. She later completed advanced training in Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing at Emory University.
She has extensive experience providing advanced wound care in both outpatient and mobile care settings. In these roles, she has evaluated and managed a wide range of complex wounds, developed individualized treatment plans, educated patients and caregivers, and utilized advanced therapies to promote healing. Krista also collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and surgeons to improve patient outcomes through coordinated, interdisciplinary care.
As a licensed nurse practitioner in Nebraska and Iowa, Krista is an active member of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses (WOCN) Society and contributes to regional planning committees for conferences focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
